A passion for understanding flight

My Grandfather introduced me to aircraft at a young age. He flew when he was young and was a pilot instructor. He was a radio operator for a B29 crew, flying missions in WWII.

When I was young, our family would buy a bucket of chicken and watch planes takeoff and land at the local airport

My first flight was when I was eight months old, to Kansas, and later when I was two years old, for a trip to New England. My first memory was flying from Atlanta to Salt Lake City and then to Montana, when I was five. It allowed me to see the real expanse of America.

This led me to learn more about the earth and space. I started reading about flying and NASA. I was intrigued by the vastness of everything. I think the world is beautiful from the stars
